- 12 ounces freshly brewed hot coffee
- 1 tablespoon butter salted or unsalted
- 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon MCT oil optional
- ΒΌ teaspoon liquid stevia or your preferred keto sweetener, optional
- Tiny pinch of salt optional, only if using unsalted butter
Add the hot coffee, butter, optional MCT oil, and sweetener to a heat-safe blender.
Vent the blender lid so steam can escape. Start blending on low, then increase the speed and blend for 20 to 30 seconds, or until creamy and frothy.
Carefully remove the lid and pour the coffee into a mug. Serve right away.
- If you are new to MCT oil, start with 1 teaspoon instead of a full tablespoon. You can always add more next time if you like it.
- The nutrition does not include MCT oil since it is optional. If you add 1 tablespoon of MCT oil, it will add about 130 calories and 14 grams of fat.
- Use a blender that is safe for hot liquids. Vent the lid so steam can escape, and start blending on low before increasing the speed.
- Do not blend hot coffee in a sealed personal blender cup unless your blender specifically says it is safe for hot liquids.
- A milk frother or immersion blender can also be used. A regular blender gives the creamiest texture, but a frother is the easiest option for everyday mornings.
- Keto coffee is best served right away while it is hot, creamy, and frothy.
