Edible keto cookie dough
We all love chocolate chip cookie dough straight out of the bowl when we are making cookies. Who cares about raw eggs! Am I the only one that eats enough cookie dough while i'm making cookies that is equivalent to about 5 cookies? I had to make a sugar free and low carb version of Keto Cookie Dough for my cookie loving self...it's one of my favorite Low Carb Desserts!
This simple recipe only requires 5 simple ingredients that you probably have on hand. You can have keto cookie dough at your fingers tips anytime you want a sweet treat!
This section explains how to choose the best ingredients for this keto cookie dough recipe, what each one does in the recipe, and substitution options. For a printable recipe, see the recipe card below.
6 ounces Cream Cheese, Softened - You can use full fat or reduced fat cream cheese for this recipe. The cream cheese provides the bulk of the keto cookie dough. I know a lot of recipes would use almond flour or coconut flour because that's what is used in keto chocolate chip cookies, but I prefer this as it is a smooth texture instead of a grainy texture from the almond flour.
5 Tablespoons Butter, Softened - I like to use salted butter. You could also use softened coconut oil or ghee!
2 Tablespoons Granular Sweetener - A monk fruit and erythritol blend works well. You can also use allulose.
½ teaspoons Vanilla extract
½ Cup Sugar free Chocolate Chips - When we think of cookie dough, it is usually chocolate chip cookies. I like to use Lily's semi-sweet chocolate chips for this keto chocolate chip cookie dough. You could also use dark chocolate chips.
