Sometimes we don’t have the time or feel like grilling and smoking. Sometimes we want delicious tender short ribs without the extra labor of tending to ribs all day. Insert this recipe for Crockpot Short Ribs, which I love!

HOW TO COOK SHORT RIBS IN A CROCKPOT

I love to make beef short ribs without the bones. It tastes better to not have to eat around bones. Plus, this recipe only requires 5 ingredients!

Like any meat, it is important to season each piece well to have amazing flavor. I like to season both sides of the short ribs with salt and pepper to keep it nice and simple. It is good to pat the salt and pepper into the short ribs so it really takes in the flavor, then place each piece into the crockpot.

To cook these delicious short ribs, we are going to add minced garlic, thyme, and chopped onion.

Spread everything over evenly then add a layer of fire roasted diced tomatoes.

Once that is complete, you have two cooking options. You can cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours. Whichever option you choose, you have plenty of time to do chores or nothing at all.

These came out delicious, they were simple to make and everyone loved them! They asked me to make them again, can I layer the meat in the crockpot, because I have to double or maybe triple the recipe? Also do I double or triple the ingredients?

I know this is odd, but how do you think it would taste with some bbq sauce added to it? Misread and thought it was a bbq crockpot recipe. Typed crockpot bbq ribs, on Pinterest, and saw how quick yours was and didn’t realize it didn’t say bbq

Delicious! I cooked it on slow for 7.5 hours...so tender. First time trying this recipe but it won't be the last...it's a keeper. Next time, I will add red wine.

I have made this five times now, my husband requests this meal every couple weeks because it is so delicious. He likes it over angel hair pasta and I put mine over hearts of palm pasta. The only other things I've added to this recipe is a half a beer and a little crushed red pepper because we like a little spice and the beer just adds to the amazing flavor. Thanks for sharing such a tasty recipe that is super easy to make.

Looks delicious! I’m going to make this on Valentine’s Day.

Do you think it red wine would be a good addition to the ingredients in the crockpot?

I can't find fire roasted tomatoes. Can I use regular diced tomatoes instead?
