Crockpot Short Ribs – 5 Ingredients!
Use your crockpot to make these tasty short ribs without the hardwork! This crockpot short ribs recipe means there is no grill or smoker necessary to make perfect ribs every time.

Sometimes we don’t have the time or feel like grilling and smoking. Sometimes we want delicious tender short ribs without the extra labor of tending to ribs all day. Insert this recipe for Crockpot Short Ribs, which I love!
HOW TO COOK SHORT RIBS IN A CROCKPOT
I love to make beef short ribs without the bones. It tastes better to not have to eat around bones. Plus, this recipe only requires 5 ingredients!
Like any meat, it is important to season each piece well to have amazing flavor. I like to season both sides of the short ribs with salt and pepper to keep it nice and simple. It is good to pat the salt and pepper into the short ribs so it really takes in the flavor, then place each piece into the crockpot.

To cook these delicious short ribs, we are going to add minced garlic, thyme, and chopped onion.

Spread everything over evenly then add a layer of fire roasted diced tomatoes.

Once that is complete, you have two cooking options. You can cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours. Whichever option you choose, you have plenty of time to do chores or nothing at all.

SERVING SLOW COOKER SHORT RIBS

Can I use beef broth in case it’s coming out dry? I just want to make sure there’s plenty of gravy for the ribs to be tender. Or whatever you suggest
Yes, beef broth will work!
These came out delicious, they were simple to make and everyone loved them! They asked me to make them again, can I layer the meat in the crockpot, because I have to double or maybe triple the recipe? Also do I double or triple the ingredients?
I know this is odd, but how do you think it would taste with some bbq sauce added to it? Misread and thought it was a bbq crockpot recipe. Typed crockpot bbq ribs, on Pinterest, and saw how quick yours was and didn’t realize it didn’t say bbq
I bet it will still be fantastic!
Delicious! I cooked it on slow for 7.5 hours…so tender. First time trying this recipe but it won’t be the last…it’s a keeper. Next time, I will add red wine.
I have made this five times now, my husband requests this meal every couple weeks because it is so delicious. He likes it over angel hair pasta and I put mine over hearts of palm pasta. The only other things I’ve added to this recipe is a half a beer and a little crushed red pepper because we like a little spice and the beer just adds to the amazing flavor. Thanks for sharing such a tasty recipe that is super easy to make.
Looks delicious! I’m going to make this on Valentine’s Day.
Do you think it red wine would be a good addition to the ingredients in the crockpot?
Can u braise these first? How were they if so
You definitely could to add more flavor.
I have bone in short ribs, can I still use this recipe? Sounds very yummy and I have all ingredients on hand.
Yes. They just may take longer to cook
Do you know how long for bone in?
It would be the same amount of time
I fixed this for my husband’s birthday dinner over cauliflower mash,HEAVEN!!! Similar to my favorite Italian restaurant’s osso bucco!!!
I just made this and being a picky eater and a diabetic on a very stick diet this is packed full of flavor and damn delicious! Hats off to you for sharing this recipe! I will definitely be making this dish again.
OMG!! Just made this and it turned out awesome!! The only change I made was to add butter, because you know, butter. Thank you!!
I can’t find fire roasted tomatoes. Can I use regular diced tomatoes instead?
Definitely!
Love letting my slow cooker do the cooking, especially when it comes out this delicious!
