Why You’ll Love This Keto Mug Cake
- Ready in about 5 minutes
- Made with simple pantry ingredients
- Low carb and gluten-free
- Perfect single serving (no leftovers calling your name!)

It’s basically comfort food in a mug.
Tips for the Perfect Mug Cake
- Don’t overcook — it dries out quickly. Start with 60 seconds and add more time if needed.
- If you want it extra gooey, slightly undercook it.
- For a richer flavor, add a tiny pinch of cream of tartar for that classic snickerdoodle tang.
- Want it dairy-free? Swap butter for coconut oil.
Optional Add-Ins
- A spoonful of cream cheese in the center before cooking
- Sugar-free white chocolate chips
- A drizzle of keto caramel sauce
- A dollop of whipped heavy cream on top
If you try this keto snickerdoodle mug cake, let me know how it turned out! It’s proof that staying low carb doesn’t mean giving up cozy, comforting desserts.

Tip: Hitting your 20–30g protein per meal goal helps you stay full and supports muscle.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 tablespoons almond flour (see my favorite on Amazon)
- 2 tablespoons sugar free granulated sweetener (see my favorite on Amazon)
- 1 large egg, beaten
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- Splash of vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a microwave-safe mug or ramekin, microwave the butter for 10 seconds to melt it. Swirl the butter around the inside of the mug to grease the sides. (leave the remaining butter as it is part of the batter.)
- Add the almond flour, sweetener, egg, baking powder, cinnamon, and vanilla. Whisk well until combined.
- Microwave on high for 60 seconds. Let stand in the microwave for 1 minute before removing. If you like, invert the cake onto a plate or enjoy it right in the mug. Sprinkle with extra cinnamon and powdered sweetener for garnish, if desired.
