For this keto mug cake, you can make it peanut butter, chocolate, or vanilla.

    Chocolate Keto Mug Cake

For a keto chocolate mug cake, in a microwave safe coffee mug, melt the butter in the microwave for 10 seconds.  Add the coconut flour or almond flour, sweetener, cocoa powder, baking powder, vanilla and beaten egg.  Mix well.
To make this keto chocolate dessert, microwave on high for 60 seconds, being sure not to overcook.  If you overcook it, it will be dry. Top with sugar free chocolate chips of desired.

    Peanut Butter

In a microwave safe coffee mug, melt the butter in the microwave for 10 seconds.  Swirl around the inside of the mug or ramekin.

I made the chocolate version with coconut flour and Swerve confectioner's sugar replacement. Would you mind breaking down how you got 7 grams total carbs for yours, because when I put all the ingredients in my carb counter (I use Carb Manager), it added up to 34.5 gms total carbs. That does include the chocolate chips (Lily's) for 8 gms carbs, but still much higher than what your recipe states. Thanks!

Carb manager must be including erythritol in the carb count

Hi, I just made the vanilla one with almond flour and it was really yummy and moist. It's super hot here in France today but I still fancied some cake. It was really nice to be able to make one without making the house any hotter because of the oven. Thank you for sharing this great recipe!

Maybe a silly question, but still fairly new to keto, for the chocolate cake, is that 7 g of carbs already net carbs? Or is it total carbs?

      Thanks ?

That's total carbs. Subtract the fiber to get net carbs

I made this tonight. I added a scoop of vanilla protein powder and a splash of half and half. It was really good but needed an extra 20 seconds in the microwave. I also added some frosting that was made out of whipped cream cheese and sweetener. Thanks for the great recipe!

The best chocolate cake-in-a-mug recipe I’ve had, yet! Not dry at all, and plenty chocolate flavor. Even my husband approved, and he is not a fan of anything not sugar sweetened. Thanks for the great recipe!

I have tried so many keto mug cakes trying to fill my immense want for a tasty cake. This is the only one that truly just tasted like cake. I poured a small amount of heavy whipping cream on top after melting some keto chocolate chips on my chocolate cake and it was amazing. Thank you. I will definitely be checking out more of your recipes.

I haven't made any of these yet, but can't wait to try! Looking at the nutritional info, can you tell me how the chocolate can have 12 g of protein in it? I know eggs have 6 g of protein, but where does the other 6 g come from?

I made this and something didn't come out right. The taste was terrible. I think I didn't use enough stevia. It had an aftertaste. Any suggestions on what I possibly got wrong? I plan to try it again. I tried the vanilla one. I've only been on keto a week so I'm new to this.

Yes, stevia can have a bitter aftertaste. You may want to try erythritol ❤️

The cakes are so very good!!! Thank you for the recipe's!! I wondering on the Analysis of the nutritional information do we subtract the fiber from the carbs to get the net amount of carbs or have you already done that?

      Thank you so much !!!

OhMyGosh! I just made the vanilla option and baked it in the oven. It is so delicious. Mine did take 15-16 minutes but I started watching it closely at 10 minutes. This may have also been because I baked it in a round glass container and not a mug. I also used coconut flour as I was out of almond flour. This is going in my recipe book for sure.
