This keto mug cake is so easy to make with only 6 ingredients.

It's also easy and ready in under 5 minutes!

For this keto mug cake, you can make it peanut butter, chocolate, or vanilla.

    Chocolate Keto Mug Cake

For a keto chocolate mug cake, in a microwave safe coffee mug, melt the butter in the microwave for 10 seconds.  Add the coconut flour or almond flour, sweetener, cocoa powder, baking powder, vanilla and beaten egg.  Mix well.
To make this keto chocolate dessert, microwave on high for 60 seconds, being sure not to overcook.  If you overcook it, it will be dry. Top with sugar free chocolate chips of desired.

    Peanut Butter

In a microwave safe coffee mug, melt the butter in the microwave for 10 seconds.  Swirl around the inside of the mug or ramekin.

This is an amazing recipe, I've made it 5 times by now for a healthy dessert quick fix. I have even made it without the butter & just 1 teaspoon peanut butter. Still EPIC.

I tried the vanilla recipe, it came out very rubbery and the egg taste almost overpowered the sweetness. Felt like I was eating a vanilla scrambled egg.

this is by far the best recipe for keto cake I have ever used. I ended up halving the amount of sweetener and cooking it for a bit longer. ( in Germany maybe the power is different in the machine) The cake is moist, tasty and so fast to make. Straight out of the microwave I top it with a couple of pieces of 80% dark chocolate.

Needed a chocolate hit at the start of my monthly time and this filled the craving with sheer deliciousness. Low carb too as I did not need the chocolate chips.

It didn't have much flavor I probably recommend 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla or a full teaspoon.

Just made it, yummy! I made the one with cocoa powder, added some peanut butter on top while it was hot and sprinkled onsome keto granola. Accidentally added one tbl spoon coconut flour AND a tbl spoon almond four, came out like a chocolate cake base.

This is a game changer! Turned out perfect first time and soooo yummy, I really won’t miss sugar filled cake when I have this!!! Made the chocolate version, will do peanut butter next time. I used stevia and good quality cocoa, it wasn’t bitter at all, as good as any restaurant ?

Honestly it tasted bitter. I followed all steps. Maybe I will try coconut flour instead of almond. Definitely eggy taste.

Agreed. Like an artificially sweetened egg mudball. One minute in the Microwave, it rose over the edge then fell into a gummy mass. Yuck.

Delicious, today your Chocolate cake was my Sunday morning breakfast, I used almond flour, and stevia powder, I always use 1/3 of the baking powder because the one I have here in Belgium tastes too strong. I ate it while it was still warm, a very very happy start of the day, thank you so much, Jennifer

Best mug cake recipe I've found - by far. Both times I've made it, I've used coconut flour, Keto cocoa powder, almond butter, and Truvia. I love that it gives me my dessert fix, is filling, and keeps me in ketosis.

When I first made it, I put it in a ramekin and it overflowed BIG TIME (still tasted good). Maybe ramekins come in different sizes but I don't see how this recipe can fit into one (even if it were just the vanilla one with coconut flour). Definitely use a mug.

I found that 45 seconds works well (with my microwave, at least). However, I feel like some parts were overcooked and some parts were undercooked, so I plan to play with the power and cook time settings to figure out what works best.

I’m not sure why people are saying it tastes like scrambled eggs. Honestly, I think it’s something they are doing or their microwave. I have made this several times and have always been successful. You may want to let the melted butter cool just a bit before adding the egg, that may be the issue? I’ve tried the chocolate and vanilla and I have experienced with different variations too. Thanks for a simple, easy and fast dessert idea for one! It definitely satisfies my sweet tooth 🙂

I made the vanilla version exactly as the recipe called for and it was not good. It was very eggy tasting and to me and my husband, it was like eating a sweetened, scrambled egg cake. I even tried the recipe twice and neither one of us could get past the eggy taste. I don't know if that's what it's supposed to taste like, but the egg was overwhelming. I did not use extra large eggs either.

+So far, I've made a plain vanilla, chocolate with Lily's semi-sweet baking chips and RediWhip topping, and another vanilla with 3/4 tsp of cinnamon stirred in and topped with chopped pecans... and RediWhip, of course.

This is an awesome recipe... thank you!

I made the vanilla one with monkfruit sweetener, coconut oil-based butter, and topped with a few Lily’s chocolate chips, and it is sooooooo good! Can’t wait to try the other two!
