Love swinging by Starbucks and picking up your favorite egg bites? Let me show you how to make this perfect to-go breakfast bites in less than 30 minutes. Packed with yummy bacon and cheese, this instant pot recipe is a perfect meal prep breakfast!

Starbucks egg bites on a white plate

Convenience always comes with a cost and at $5 a piece, the Starbucks egg bites add up quick.  I like to make these and have my very own To Go breakfast that is just as easy since I am not busy stuck in a drive thru line!

I'm all about making more food at home and not giving into the conveniences of fast food.  I know exactly what is in these sous vide egg bites and that makes me happy!

These aren't exactly sous vide egg bites because most people do not have a sous vide machine.  On the other hand, a lot of people do have an Instant pot pressure cooker so grab you some egg bite molds let's get to cooking.

    Ingredients needed

This section explains how to choose the best ingredients for this Starbuck's Egg Bites recipe, what each one does in the recipe, and substitution options. For a printable recipe, see the recipe card below.

    8 large Eggs

½ Cup heavy cream - you can also use a ½ cup of blended cottage cheese for a lighter egg bite with more protein.

    ½ teaspoon Kosher salt

    ¼ teaspoon black pepper

2 Cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese - for authentic, use gruyere. For economical, use Monterey Jack.

8 slices Bacon, cooked and crumbled - you can also use turkey bacon

How to make Starbucks egg Bites

This section explains how to make this Starbuck's copycat egg bites recipe, step by step. For a full printable recipe, see the recipe card below.

In a large mixing bowl or blender, combine the eggs, heavy cream, salt and pepper. Blend or whisk until smooth.

Spray the egg bite molds with cooking spray and equally divide the cheese and bacon between the 14 egg cups. Pour the egg mixture evenly between the cups.

Spray 2 sheets of foil with cooking spray and cover the egg bites tightly with the foil. Set on the metal trivet. Pour 1 cup of water in the Instant Pot and set the trivet with the egg bites in the Instant pot.

Set on steam for 10 minutes followed by a 10 minute natural pressure release. Let cool and serve. Store in air-tight container in the refrigerator.

    Starbuck's Egg Bites

There are some things you should know about the Starbucks egg bites.  They are incredibly small but each egg bite is 150 calories for a total of 300 calories per serving.  This tells me that they are probably mostly cheese because 1 egg is only 70 calories.

And what do you know, I checked the Starbucks website for the ingredients and this is what I found!

They are called Gruyere and bacon but the first ingredient is cottage cheese.  This means that they are mostly cottage cheese, followed by eggs, then a cheese blend including Gruyere and Monterey Jack.

    Pro tip:

    • Use foil instead or the lids that come with the egg bite molds
    • Blend the eggs in a blender for super smooth texture
    • Spray the foil with cooking spray so it doesn't stick to the bites

Where's the cottage cheese? You say that’s the 1st ingredient on Starbucks website, but I don’t see it in your recipe.

Can you use an air dryer if you don’t have an instant pot?

You could steam them. That's essentially what the Instant pot is doing

These were easy to make and really good! What else can I use those silicone molds for? Do you have other recipes that work well with these molds?

I use my silicone for keto muffins and eggs all the time and no spraying!

These sound so good. Instead of buying the molds, you can scoop out an avocado shell and make guacamole and then use the shell as a mold for the egg mixture. Guac on eggs is muy deliciouso.
