I Give 4 variations of the super popular keto chaffle recipe! Some sweet, some savory. Use them as hamburger buns, for a sandwich, or drench them in sugar free syrup. Choose from Jalapeno, everything, chocolate chip, and classic.

4 stacks of sweet and savory keto chaffles

There is nothing mysterious or complicated about chaffles.  They are delicious when you add flavorings and when you don't!  I love t use them as bread for a sandwich or hamburger buns.

I love that chaffles will work when I am feeling like something sweet or savory.

Let's talk about the basic chaffle and how it is so versatile!

The basic chaffle is just 1 egg and ½ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese mixed together.

The trick to making them perfect is to use a Mini Dash Waffle maker.  Then they are the perfect size for bread!

You can find the Mini Dash Waffle maker on Amazon or it's only $10 at Target!

So back to the basic chaffle.  I like to us it in so many ways:

    • As a mini pizza crust.  Make a basic chaffle and then top with your favorite pizza toppings.  Pop in the oven until the toppings are nice and bubbly.
    • As the bun for a cheeseburger
    • As the bread for a sandwich
    • As the base for avocado toast
    • Schmear with cream cheese like a bagel
    • peanut butter and jelly using my keto jam recipe
    • Cut it up into strips and dip in syrup like French toast sticks

    4 batters of chaffle

You are going to love all of the variations I have below in the recipe card.  let me know which one is your favorite?

    • 1 Large Egg, Beaten
    • ½ Cup Shredded Mozarella Cheese
    • Kosher salt and pepper to taste
    Jalapeno:
    • 1 Large Egg, beaten
    • ½ cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
    • 1 Tablespoon diced jalapeños
    • Kosher salt and pepper to taste
    Chocolate Chip:
    • 1 Large Egg, beaten
    • ½ Cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

    • 1 Tablespoon sugar free brown sweetener
    Everything Bagel:
    • 1 Large Egg, beaten
    • ½ Cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
    • 1 teaspoon Everything bagel seasoning

    Equipment

    • Small Waffle Maker- 4 inch diameter

    Method

    1. Start off with preheating your waffle maker. In a medium size mixing bowl add your egg, mozzarella cheese, and add the ingredients for which ever chaffle you’re making and mix together.
    2. Spray the inside of your waffle maker with cooking spray and pour half of your chaffle mix inside. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown (the longer it cooks, the crispier it gets) Repeat same process with remaining mixture. Serve.

How do I get my whimpy chaffles to crisp up a bit? I tried 5 minutes instead of three? Still whimpy.

I love chaffles!! I eat them with sugar free syrup, as a sandwich with turkey, and I’m going to try with the sugar free chocolate chips!!

      Hi Jennifer
how do I stop my chaffels from sticking to my waffle maker. I really like them but have had to stop making them as I get too disappointed when they stick. Any advice would be great

If you put a little bit of shredded cheese on the waffle iron for 30 seconds before adding your Chaffee mixture, then put a little shredded cheese on top of the mixture. Close it up and cook 3 to 5 minutes. It will usually come right out. The shredded cheese crisps up and let’s it release easier. Works for me.
