This was delicious! I used coconut flour and added a teaspoon of coconut oil to the butter. I also used cacao powder as well as a splash of vanilla for a nice flavor combination. I added a Sprinkle of pink Himalayan salt and a small square of Keto chocolate walnut bark to the mix. Before eating I poured some heavy cream over the top and it was so good!
Olive says
Wow this was great! I added a little sour cream to keep it moist, and I cooked it for 50 secs . Amazing! Luckily I used a high quality cocoa powder, that was the star of the mug LoL be thank you!
Holly says
I made the vanilla mug cake with coconut flour and OMG!!! It was amazing! I plopped mine out of the mug, spread a little organic crunchy peanut butter over the top, then drizzled sugar free maple syrup over that (not too much, just a little to add flavor) and it was excellent!! Thank you so much for this recipe!
Irianne says
Absolutely delicious!! Will def make it again
Christine says
This was so delicious I felt guilty after eating it even tho its very Keto friendly! The portion size was big as well so it was very filling! I think I might even measure out small packets of the dry ingredients so it’ll be super duper quick and easy to make whenever! Thanks for the recipe!

Yummo!! It's delicious. I usually don't have a sweet tooth but I've been craving something sweet and don't have anything in the house. I found another mug cake recipe a few days ago. Made it, hated it. It just made my craving worse. Decided to try one more time and found this recipe. Made it, loved it!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Val says
This is very delicious, but I felt it was a little dry, especially towards the bottom. So I tweaked it: I used coconut flour, I reduced it to 1 tablespoon sweetner(I use monkfruit) I also only did the egg yolk, and added 2 teaspoons of water. It was perfect, it was very moist but not spongy because of the egg white. Definitely a great afternoon delight.
Kay Marie says
The consistency was spot on esp w the butter. So easy and quick. I used 1 tbsp and 1/2 of lakanto monkfruit and it was way too sweet also live in nc high humidity I had to cook it at 75 secs. This is a keeper, however, I will reduce sweetener to half next time.
Thanks

Thank you Jennifer for this recipe. I made it last night for my daughter who is on a gluten-free elimination diet for some digestion troubles and was sad to miss out on her sister’s birthday cake. She loved it! I used regular sugar for the sweetener and added the chocolate chips because she’s not on a low carb diet and it turned out perfectly. She didn’t feel left out of the celebration.

So good! Thanks! My first Keto chocolate cake. Some mods I made: 1 TBSP of Swerve Granular Sugar Replacement (vs. 2 TBSP) plus a couple of drops of French Vanilla Stevia. Plus 1/4 tsp of Espresso Powder and a small pinch of Kosher Salt. Once made, I sprinkled with Lily's Dark Chocolate Chips (no sugar added - 1 net carbs) and some Swerve Confectioners Sugar Replacement. I will make this again.
Jen says
This is hands down the best mug cake recipe have made. Very moist and chocolatey. Perfect for a chocolate craving. I used almond flour and just sprinkled a little powdered Swerve on top! Perfect!
Becky says
So good! I have missed having cake - this recipe is perfect!!
RGWL says
I just ate this and loved it! However, after doing the math, I realized that you said “optional” for chocolate chips. Were they not accounted for in the nutritional calculations? I used sugar free from Hershey’s, and it said that the chips alone have 8 net carbs, but the rest is what you said. It really was so good though!
Pat says
Of course I didn't do this exactly right, but it came out beautifully anyway! It was so good and was perfect for that chocolate/sweet craving I was having. I'm so glad I found this recipe. Tasty recipes like this make Keto even easier! Thanks for helping me stick to it!
Mikayla says
This was soooo good!! Would it be possible to up the amounts and make a full size cake in the oven? Would it turn out the same? I'm not sure what the proportions would be...
jenniferbanz says
I'm not sure as I haven't tried that. If you try let me know how it works out!
Nikki says
Hello...
This is delicious Jennifer.. I did double it (except sweetener .. I used 2.5 tablespoons) and I microwaved it in a China basin... it came out perfect and hubby loved it too x
Mikayla says
I used a teaspoon of Lakanto monk fruit and it turned out delicious!

The vanilla version was delicious. I added a dollop of homemade unsweetened whipped cream and some cinnamon.
Wonderful for keto! Thank you.
Kristen says
This is so, so good! I just made it for the 5th time since I found this recipe about 2 weeks ago. It’s my go to sweet-tooth recipe now! I do the cocoa with almond flour, no added chips. I do love it with sugar free whipped cream on top.
Carly says
Love it, I did the vanilla version with some blueberries and splashed just a bit of heavy cream on the top. So good.
Lara says
This was wonderful! Thank you! I made the vanilla version with coconut flour. I used just a little over 1tbsp of the erythritol/monk fruit sweetener blend I have on hand, but after it cooked I added a small pat of butter on the top, and sprinkled on a bit of the sweetener blend. Awesome!!
Brittney says
OH. EM. GEE. I made the vanilla version (I could probably add more vanilla next time) but this is AWESOME! I topped it with a teaspoon of peanut butter and it was amazing! I’ll be playing with this base and adding a few blueberries and strawberries for breakfast. I have been looking up mug cakes and they all have some random obscure ingredient that I don’t have. These are AMAZING and so simple!!! THANK YOU!!!
Lynn says
Just ate a chocolate one now. I'm bad!! I made it with coconut flour and baked it for 67 seconds, a few seconds too long. I used almond flour for the vanilla ones and had to bake them for a few more than the 60 seconds called for. Still better than the other chocolate mug cake I tried.
Aleta Abejero says
Was craving for chocolate pava cake from Chilis. Not anymore! Thanks to your recipe I am saved! Haha! It’s pretty good my stepdaughter ended up asking for one and she is a sugar addict and hate cakes but she loved your mug cake recipe
Lynn says
I have a confession to make. I made the vanilla mug cake this morning and ate it. Just now I mixed up another one and set it in the fridge for later. I put a few choc chips on the one earlier and I'm going to put a few on this one with a dab of crushed, unsweetened strawberries. I have to say this is the best mug cake I've had to date. Hope I can wait for another hour or so.
Brenda says
Wow, I made this tonight, I am on a complete keto diet, my fiancé ate it, added the chips on top and strawberries, wow, can't believe how good this is. Thanks for sharing this awesome recipe

Easy and so so tasty! I subbed MCT oil for the butter, turned out just fine 🙂

I made the vanilla version just as written, and used it for a strawberry shortcake base. It was perfect; husband says to pin this recipe! Thanks for doing the experimenting and posting delicious recipes.

I just made it for my keto husband for father's day weekend! Of course today was just the trial run and I'll be making it again tomorrow for desert with father's day dinner!
thank you so much!
ManInWhite says
I make this nearly everyday, sometimes twice! Just be careful not to overcook it or it'll be dry. I usually let it stay a little runny and then mix it all up.
Jessi says
I made this tonight, but rather than the chocolate chips I decided to put 2 tablespoon of spreadable cream cheese on top of the chocolate version. It was so good.
Angela says
