It's also easy and ready in under 5 minutes!

For this keto mug cake, you can make it peanut butter, chocolate, or vanilla.

    Chocolate Keto Mug Cake

For a keto chocolate mug cake, in a microwave safe coffee mug, melt the butter in the microwave for 10 seconds.  Add the coconut flour or almond flour, sweetener, cocoa powder, baking powder, vanilla and beaten egg.  Mix well.
To make this keto chocolate dessert, microwave on high for 60 seconds, being sure not to overcook.  If you overcook it, it will be dry. Top with sugar free chocolate chips of desired.

    Peanut Butter

In a microwave safe coffee mug, melt the butter in the microwave for 10 seconds.  Swirl around the inside of the mug or ramekin.

I use only one tablespoon sweetener and 3 tablespoons blueberries for a breakfast treat. I found that I like to put it in my Dash bundt cake maker and cook for 8 minutes. It comes out perfectly!

I have made this the last three nights and am thrilled with the results. I made vanilla for my BF and chocolate for myself. He puts strawberries and heavy whipping cream on top of the vanilla and it is like a strawberry shortcake. I am chocolate everything. I have poked a few pieces of a dark chocolate bar in it, have tried it plain and w peanut butter in the chocolate which I also love. Probably won’t be baking a cake anytime in the future. This is easier and super tasty! Thanks!

Made the chocolate version tonight and loved the texture and the taste. Used SOLA sweetener; there was no aftertaste. I like my desserts less sweet than general, so reduced the amount of sweetener. Added a dash of cinnamon and some orange zest as well as 1/2 of heavy cream in the mix( for some reason, the mix looked too dry), and it turned out amazing. Thank you!

The chocolate version was a delicious afternoon snack with a cup of tea. I microwaved it for 35 seconds, which was perfect -- not too dry, not too moist. And I used Costco's Kirkland brand almond flour. Thank you!

I just made and ate this! Yummy! Excellent for a mid-afternoon hold me over until dinner! I made the almond flour version using half tbsp natural peanut butter and half tbsp unswt cocoa powder, I don't have choc chips. The only sweetener I had on hand is stevia, I used 4 of the tiny spoonfuls that comes in the bottle. Topped it off with 6 raspberries when it was done. Will definitely be making some version of this on a regular basis!

Made a chocolate one of these with the coconut flour. It overflowed my mug a little but not to much, and with a little heavy cream it was really tasty! I didn't have any chocolate chips but I didn't miss them. Thanks again!

Thank you for this delicious recipe.
I was craving scones with jam and cream today. I saw the idea to make a strawberry loaf, but wanted to trial it in a mug cake version.
So I used this vanilla mug cake recipe, & mixed in about a chopped frozen strawberry (I also added a touch more coconut flour to ensure it wasn't too wet).
In another bowl I put another chopped frozen strawberry, sprinkled lightly with sweetener, & lightly thawed in the microwave.
I finally added the cooked mug cake into the bowl with the strawberries, & added a thick dollop of cream on top. Extremely delicious and just what I wanted.
      Thank you again!

I tripled the batch using coconut flour, baked it in a mini dash bundt pan. Made 4 cakes baked each for 8 minutes. Sprinkled with erythritol icing sugar. very good thought it would be a little dry because of the coconut flour but was quite moist.

I’m in shock of how good this was! It tasted better than chocolate cake. I did what some other comments had mentioned to do half coconut flour (.5T) and half almond (1.5T) then with pb and cocoa. It was delicious! I added a bit of heavy cream on top and it was heaven.

I just made this for the second night in a row. Last night I made the chocolate version but I used cashew flour because I was out of almond. I broke up some sugar free chocolate on top. PIt was really good. Tonight I used the almond flour, cacao , and I broke up a coffee keto cup and microwaved it in. Then put some sugar free chocolate on top. oh my Gosh it was amazing!!

Made the vanilla version with half the called for coconut flour (1/2 Tbl) and half the called for almond flour (1 1/2 Tbl) to get a balance of the two options. It came out fluffy and delicious!!! Perfect texture, and it pulled slightly away from the mug so no spray or anything was necessary.

I used my good old coffee cup to make this. Sprayed it with some coconut oil spray. It did not stick. Mixed everything in the cup for less mess. I also made a Vanilla and almond flavored version of this recipe. My favorite was the chocolate and peanut butter flavored though. Thank you so much for sharing you wonderfully creative cooking creations. I was getting bored with the same old recipes and this one was so simple! Keto ON girl!

This is sooooo amazing! One of the BEST Keto recipes I’ve come across. This mug cake tastes like any other cake but only 3 net carbs! Super simple and quick, too. I treat myself to this cake a few nights a week with some freshly whipped cream and 1/4 cup of berries. I also pack the ingredients with me when I have dinner with friends so I can have dessert with them, too. Thanks for this awesome recipe and helping me stay Keto!
