This keto pork chops recipe with garlic butter is the perfect healthy weeknight comfort meal! Thick cut pork chops seasoned with just the right amount of seasonings and topped with buttery goodness! Super easy to make and budget friendly, this recipe will be a quick family favorite!

keto pork chops in a skillet

Pork chops are such an underrated protein that can be ready in a matter of minutes!  These keto pork chops are great for bust weeknights and the whole family loves them.  These garlic butter pork chops can be paired with cauliflower Mac and cheese or bacon green beans.

    Ingredients needed

This section explains how to choose the best ingredients for this keto pork chop recipe, what each one does in the recipe, and substitution options. For a printable recipe, see the recipe card below.

2 tablespoons avocado oil - you can use whatever oil you like. Olive oil with work!

3 pound boneless pork loin (cut into 6 chops) - if you cannot find a pork loin this small, you can buy a larger one and save the extra in the freezer for another recipe like my crockpot pork loin pulled pork.

    salt and pepper to taste

    1 teaspoon garlic powder

    4 tablespoons butter, melted

    Chopped parsley for garnish

How to make your own thick keto pork chops:

Instead of buying thin boneless pork chops that are already cut, I like to cut my own and I cut them at least 1.5 inches thick.  I do this for a couple of reasons.  1. They are less likely to over cook and dry out and I want juicy pork chops and 2. thick pork chops are just better and easier to cook.  I buy a 3 pound pork loin and I cut it into 6 even chops by cutting it in half, then each half is cut into thirds.  If you cannot find a 3 pound pork loin (this is on the smaller side) you can buy a larger one and freeze the extra for another meal.

How to make the best garlic butter pork chops

This section explains how to make this garlic butter pork chops recipe, step by step. For a full printable recipe, see the recipe card below.

Heat the avocado oil in a large heavy bottomed skillet over medium-high heat. Season each side of your boneless pork chops with salt, pepper and garlic powder.

    seasoning pork chops

Cook the low carb pork chops in the hot pan to get a good sear - about 2 minutes on each side. Reduce the heat to medium and continue to cook until the internal temperature reaches 145F, about 10 minutes.

When the keto pork chops are cooked through, drizzle melted butter over top. Finish the dish with chopped parsley, if desired.

pouring melted butter over pork chops

This may be a super simple healthy pork chop recipe with only 4 ingredients, but it results in the juiciest and tender pork chops! The technique you use is where the best tasting meat comes from, not necessarily the number of ingredients used. I know when I want an easy keto dinner, this recipe is in my back pocket.

Just look at that juicy keto pork chop!

    Pro tip:

    • One of the most important kitchen tools in my kitchen is a probe meat thermometer.  There is no shame in using one to make sure your boneless pork chops are perfectly cooked!  I insert the probe into the center of the pork chop, being sure to not go all of the way through.  Pork is safe to eat at 145F and in my opinion, that is when it is the juiciest.
