Skip the lines and sugar at your favorite frozen yogurt shop! Make the best homemade frozen yogurt with just 4 ingredients! This low carb chocolate frozen yogurt recipe uses simple ingredients that you may already have in your kitchen.

keto chocolate frozen yogurt in a glass bowl

Frozen yogurt is a great alternative to traditional ice cream as it is less calories.  But what if we made it even less calories by making it sugar free!  That is a win in my book!  This low carb chocolate frozen yogurt is really easy to make, no ice cream maker required!

What kind of yogurt is best for frozen yogurt?

Whole milk yogurt is going to give you the best consistency and creaminess when it comes to frozen yogurt.  When it comes to the least amount of sugar, you're going to want to use Greek yogurt as it has a lot of the whey strained out and that's where a lot of the carbs can be found.  You could also use plain Icelandic skyr. For a less tangy flavor, use a skyr.

    • 2 Cups Whole Milk Greek yogurt
    • ½ Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
    • 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
    • ⅔ Cup sugar free powdered sweetener

    Method

    1. Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until completely smooth.
    2. Transfer the chocolate mixture into a freezer safe storage container with a lid, or a loaf pan and cover with Saran Wrap. Freeze for 1-2 hours.
    3. Remove container from the freezer and stir the already frozen edges into the soft center. Cover again and place back into the freezer and let freeze for about 3 hours or until frozen. Remove from the freezer and serve. You may need to let it set out for about 10-15 minutes to soften.

Could these be made into yasso type bars and with 2% yogurt?
